Our guide Giorgia explained everything she knows along the hike, the things we see. it was fruitful and gained a lot of knowledge through the hike, besides you see the views and takes the road that less people taken.

If you have limited time, go for hiking tour! It just worth it.

The area was amazing and the tours were well priced and worth the money. The monasteries and the Byzantine church of Virgin Mary are absolutely beautiful and rich in history. I highly recommend visiting the area at least once and joining these tours.

The guide was very nice and knowledgeable, she provided also some good tips to visit the places as well as plenty of historical information. The time dedicated to each monastery is between 45 and 60 min, hence more than enough to enjoy the visits and to take pictures. The building are true masterpieces, and the panorama and views are unforgettable. For women, remember to bring a long skirt as it is required to enter the monasteries, although some of them may have some spare foulards to be used for the visits. Remember also to bring some water/food as in case of rush the time dedicated to additional stops could be very limited.

Once in the town of Kalabaka, there was someone waiting for us. Our guide continued to impress us with her knowledge of the past and present of these monasteries. There was plenty of time to see everything we wanted to see. We went inside 3 of the monasteries, which was absolutely incredible, and stop at the other 3 for pictures. Plus we visited a rocky outcropping for a truly breathtaking experience. Then stopped for a bite to eat at the local village before heading back to the train. Well worth the money. The driver Christoff picked us up at our Air BnB in Athens and drove us to Meteora. He was very polite and spoke conversational English, which was... read more great because my Greek is terrible. Traffic in Athens was terrible so we arrived later than expected.

In Meteora we met Klement our tour guide. Due to scheduling they did the best to get us into 3 different monasteries. I felt like we were not rushed and had adequate time at each location. Additionally, we made a lot of stops to take photos and sight see. Klement and Christoff provided a lot of information and the children enjoyed the trip. The trip ran longer than planned but it was completely worth it.

At the end of the trip, Klement suggested we eat at a Taberna right near the Meteora Thrones HQ for dinner. It was awesome.

We left kalampaka at 7 pm and headed back to Athens with a different driver. We arrived back at our Air BnB around midnight. It was a very long day, but an excellent trip. The guides were great, we saw everything that we needed to see, and had enough time to enjoy the scenery.

I would highly recommend this trip.
