Panoramic Morning Meteora and Monasteries Tour

This private tour was amazing! Our private driver in meteora was Sakis. He was full of life and stories of the history of the area. He was born and... read more raised there and it was evident he loves this region! Unfortunately we did not get to experience the train ride as our booking was on Greece, Labor Day and the trains were not running. The tour company arranged travel on a private bus for all the guests that day. I recommend scheduling on a day when the trains are running - as I think the experience is like better on the train.

Size of the group was compact so we didn't have to wait for fifty people at every stop. All in all really a tour to be remembered the rest of our lives!

We had time for a sit down meal before heading back, and lots of flexibility during the tour. If you have a chance to see the Byzantine church in town, definitely ask Dimitrios for it!

It really is spectacular to see the sunset behind the rocks. They picked up and dropped off at my hotel which was really convenient.

Chris is an amazing young and knowledgeable tour guide who guided us though the hike. Pace was good and brought us to many amazing spots with many photo opportunities. Really loved the hike and it was honestly the highlight of my trip.

Overall, both tours was amazing and would highly recommend doing both! No regrets.

The driver Christoff picked us up at our Air BnB in Athens and drove us to Meteora. He was very polite and spoke conversational English, which was... read more great because my Greek is terrible. Traffic in Athens was terrible so we arrived later than expected.

In Meteora we met Klement our tour guide. Due to scheduling they did the best to get us into 3 different monasteries. I felt like we were not rushed and had adequate time at each location. Additionally, we made a lot of stops to take photos and sight see. Klement and Christoff provided a lot of information and the children enjoyed the trip. The trip ran longer than planned but it was completely worth it.

At the end of the trip, Klement suggested we eat at a Taberna right near the Meteora Thrones HQ for dinner. It was awesome.

We left kalampaka at 7 pm and headed back to Athens with a different driver. We arrived back at our Air BnB around midnight. It was a very long day, but an excellent trip. The guides were great, we saw everything that we needed to see, and had enough time to enjoy the scenery.

I would highly recommend this trip.

Meteora visit - Absolute stunning views and totally worth the long day of getting there and back to Athens. I would have been so disappointed to not have been able to see this area of Kalabaka and the historical monasteries. The tour guide was so helpful and informative. The beauty of the rocks and area is indescribable. A definite must see. Thank you for putting together such an awesome adventure.
